We took the Phytomedicine message on the road to the NC Blueberry Festival in Burgaw, NC. Folks who visited our tent were happy to receive a paper fan to cool off on a typically warm Eastern NC Saturday in June. The fan, shaped and printed to look like a giant blueberry, included phyto-facts about blueberries based on research conducted by our Plants for Human Health Institute scientists. We also offered recipe cards, a fun photo cut-out, a blueberry bean bag toss game and a match game of blueberry superheroes.
Some folks just loved the opportunity to share their Wolfpack connection. And they walked away knowing a little more about the health benefits of the berry they were there to celebrate.
